Three people, including a schoolgirl, died in two incidents in Kaliganj upazila of Gazipur district on Sunday and yesterday. A correspondent from Gazipur adds: two people died when a boat capsized in Belai Beel at Bamangaon in Kaliganj upazila on Sunday. The dead were identified as Faruk Mia, 17, and Makmudul, 8, of Kapasia upazila of the district. Police said Faruk along with Makmudul was going to his sister's house at Bamangaon by a boat. Suddenly the boat carrying them capsized in the water body in the evening. Local people rescued them and took them to the upazila health complex where doctors declared them dead. In another incident, a schoolgirl was killed in a road accident at Barodi in Kaliganj upazila of the district yesterday. The victim was identified as Bristi, 13, a student of class seven of Kaliganj Rayerdia High School and daughter of Bacchu Miah of Talia village of the upazila. Sources said students of the school in a bus were going to Comilla for a picnic. Around 11:00am, they stopped the bus beside the highway at Barodi of Rupganj for a break. At one stage, a speedy truck ran over Bristi while she was crossing the road.
