Night guard on 3-day remand

Night guard Milan Ahmed Chowdhury, arrested in connection with Khagrachhari Janata Bank robbery, was yesterday placed on a three-day remand by Senior Judicial Magistrate Abdullah Al Mamun. Officials of the bank came to know about the robbery after cashier Mohammad Abdul Hye Mollah along with a few others went to the branch at around 10:25am on Friday to complete the classification statement of the last three months and found the vault open with all the money looted. Police rushed to the bank following a phone call from the cashier and arrested the night guard for his alleged involvement with the bank robbery. Bank Manager Saiful Islam Chowdhury said the gang took away Tk 18 lakh from the vault.
