USA, UAE professors meet DU VC

Two university professors from USA and UAE called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique at the latter's office here yesterday. The two professors are Dr Shahid M Shahidullah of Criminal Justice department of Social Sciences of North Carolina University, USA and Dr Habibul Haque Khondker of Humanities and Social Sciences department of Zayed University, UAE. Prof Arefin thanked them for their visit and interest in academic programmes of the DU, said a press release. They discussed issues of mutual interest including the possibility of establishing Criminal Justice and Criminology Department at DU. Dr Shahid and Dr Habibul assured the vice-chancellor of providing assistance and cooperation to open this new department. Chairman of DU Sociology department Prof AI Mahabub Uddin Ahmed and Prof S Aminul Islam were present.
