Football legends Lionel Messi, Wayne Rooney, Kaka and Klose came alive in the paintings of children who took part in a competition yesterday at the British Council. British Council and Journey Communications jointly organised a daylong programme to spread World Cup fever among children including cultural programme and a film show, says a press release. Prominent artists of the country selected paintings of nine children in three categories and gave away prizes. Eminent singers Shafin Ahmed, Fahmida Nobi, Anima Roy and Sur Bihar bewildered the audience with their spellbinding performances. The film “Jagoo” based on football was shown at the end of the day.
