Road crashes kill three in C'nawabganj

Three people were killed and another was injured in separate road accidents in Chapainawabganj yesterday. Two people were killed and another injured in a motorcycle accident at Nachole upazila in Chapainawabganj yesterday. The deceased were identified as Mazharul, 15, of Benipur and Sweet, 15, of Bherendi while the injured is Nayan, 15, of Bherendi of the same district. Locals and Chairman of Nachole Union Enayetullah said Nayan, with the other two on his bike, lost control of the bike trying to give room for a truck to pass. The bike then hit a tree at Ghughudanga on Chapainawabganj-Naogaon road at around 2:00pm. Locals rushed them to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in critical condition where Mazharul and Sweet succumbed to their injuries at 5:30pm. Nayan was under going treatment at the hospital. In another incident, a man was crushed under the wheels of a truck at Ranihati Bazar in Shibgonj upazila early yesterday. The victim was identified as Mabhbub, 35, son of Yeasin Ali of Housenagar-Sabeklavanga of the upazila. Police and locals said the accident occurred around 3:00am when a truck from Sonamasjid land port ran over Mahbub while he was crossing the Chapainawabganj-Sonamasjid highway. Police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
