State Minister for Law Advocate Qamrul Islam yesterday said identified war criminals would be brought under trial for violating human rights during the Great War of Liberation by this year. "International crimes tribunal can show arrested the detained Jamaat leaders under the charge of violating human rights during the War of Liberation as it has already found primary evidences against them," he said, while speaking at a seminar as the chief guest on legal aid services at Shilpakala Academy in the district. He said the government would appoint more judges soon for reducing cases pending at the courts. The state minister said the government would bring amendments to its legal aid service policy so that the poor can easily get legal support from the judiciary system. "Legal aid committees will be formed at upazila and union levels to provide legal support to poor and distress communities free of cost," he added. National Legal Aid Services Organisation (NLASO) with the support of Bangladesh Legal Aid Services Trust (BLAST) and Human Rights Implementation Agency organised the seminar with Tangail District and Session Judge Gholam Murtoza Mojumder in the chair.
