Museum on agri tools opened in Pabna

An Appropriate Technology Museum for display of agricultural tools and scientific methods of cultivation in the country, first of its kind at upazila level in the country, was launched in Pabna on Thursday. Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Md. Shafiul Alam inaugurated the museum at Pabna Sadar upazila. It was set up on 12 bighas of land at the initiative of the upazila administration and agriculture officials. Pabna Deputy Commissioner Md. Golam Moula presided over the function. Besides tools, at least 30 mini agri-projects are on display at the museum. These include mashrum farming', vegetable garden on pond, indigenous hatching machine, fish farming in a small space, flower garden and apple cool. Work on the project was started in May this year. At least 100 projects would be included in the museum, said Pabna Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Abdul Hakim. Such type of Appropriate Technology Museum will increase the interest for people in modern agriculture, fishery and such occupations that will develop the rural economy, he said.
