No scope to retreat from war crimes trial: Tuku
State Minister for Home Advocate Shamsul Haque Tuku said the government has no scope to retreat from the war crimes trial.
“The process for the trial of the war criminals is a tough job but the government will complete it within the shortest possible time,” he said while he was addressing the monthly law and order meeting at the office of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) here.
Golam Faruk Khandakar Prince, MP, former MP Amzad Hossain, Additional Police Super of Pabna Mosharaf Hossain Miazi, Advocate Golam Hussain, Awami League leaders M Saidul Haque Chunna, Pabna Sadar Upazila Chairman Mosharaf Hossain, Bhangura Upazila Chairman Baki Billah, Sujanagar Upazila Chairman Ahmed Firoz Kabir, Chatmohor Upazila Chairman Shamsuddin Khabir, Public Prosecutor Belayet Ali Billa and Lion Baby Islam spoke at the meeting with Deputy Commissioner Dr AFM Manjur Kadir in the chair.
Tuku told the meeting that the number one and number three leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh are the residents of Pabna, so that the people of Pabna should be united and remain alert regarding their trial.
He said nothing is secure including the mosques and madrasas from the war criminals.
Tuku said to make the country free from drugs is one of the dreams of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and everybody should come forward for materialising this dream.
