Awami League (AL) Presidium Member Suranjit Sengupta yesterday said there is still scope for Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) to join the 'All-party Parliamentary Committee'. Suranjit Sengupta, also co-chair of the committee, was addressing a roundtable titled 'Trial of war criminals, politics of Jamaat-e-Islami and restoration of 72' constitution' organised by Sheikh Russel Memorial Academy at Dhaka Reporters' Unity in the city. The committee will protect the sovereignty of the country, he said, adding that it may review the act regarding the caretaker government system. Referring to a comment by BNP Secretary General Khandaker Delwar Hossain, Suranjit said," I think BNP is talking nonsense failing to cope with the reality. I call upon the BNP to make political comments." He called upon the main opposition party to abandon anti-people politics and practice democracy adding that trial of Jamaat leaders would begin soon. State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Ministry Motahar Hossain and AL organising secretary Ahmad Hossain spoke among others.
