Tajuddin's anniversary of birth today

Today is the 85th birth anniversary of Tajuddin Ahmad, the first prime minister of Bangladesh, said a press release. He was born in 1925 at Dardaria village under Kapasia thana in Gazipur district. Tajuddin formed the first government of Bangladesh at the most critical moment of the nation in 1971 in absence of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, said Tajuddin Ahmed Smriti Sangshad. After the independence, Tajuddin also served as finance and planning minister. When Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was assassinated along with his family members in 1975, Tajuddin Ahmad was put under house arrest. Later he was shifted to Dhaka Central Jail where he was killed on November 3 along with Syed Nazrul Islam, Captain M Mansur Ali and AHM Qamaruzzaman.
