Star Readers' Club holds programme in Kurigram
The Daily Star Readers' Club in Kurigram organised a discussion meeting on the occasion of Begum Rokeya Day 2007 yesterday.
At the meeting held at the seminar room of Bangla Department of Kurigram Government College, the speakers highlighted the life and philosophy of the pioneer in women's awakening in the country.
Md Tofael Hossen, head of the Department of English of the college, and advocate Abraham Lingkon, public prosecutor and principal of Kurigram Law College, were chief guest and special guest at the meeting chaired by club president Prof Tapon Kumar Rudra.
Among others, college teachers Moazzem Hossen, Abu Saleh Md Wadudur Rahman, Jahangir Alam and Mahfujul Islam Shahin and club vice president Monjurul Islam, spoke at the meeting.
