SI closed in Dinajpur
A sub-inspector (SI) of police working at Boda police station has been closed to Panchagarh Police Lines for allegedly taking bribe from a clinic owner on Sunday, police said.
The SI is Md Abdur Rahman.
Police said the SI created pressure on Md Harun-Ur-Rashid of Uttara Clinic in Panchagarh to pay him Tk100,000 as bribe. The clinic owner paid him Tk 20,000 as bribe out of fear. The SI asked him to pay the rest amount on Sunday. For failure, the SI threatened him to implicate him in a murder case.
On complaint, the superintendent of police (SP) of Panchagarh, Md Harun took action against the SI. When contacted, the SP confirmed the report saying a departmental action will be taken against him.
