Farmers beseize UNO office for fertiliser
Several hundred farmers of Pirgachha upazila in the district yesterday beseized Upazila Nirbahi Officer demanding fertiliser.
Farmers from Tambulpur union gathered on the premises of UNO office from 10:00am and asked the UNO for MoP and other necessary fertilisers. Kept beseized for about half an hour, the UNO assured them of distributing fertilizers and the farmers withdrew.
The farmers said they did not get MoP when they need it badly to cultivate potato.
As there was no list of farmers of the villages, the fertiliser dealer did not sell it to them, UNO Goutom Kumar said.
