FAO consultant killed in road crash
A UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) consultant was killed and five people were injured in a road crash at Ashukathi of Gournadi here on the Dhaka- Barisal highway yesterday afternoon.
Police and witnesses said FAO consultant Mohammad Kabir Mallick and the five others were injured when a microbus carrying them was hit by a passenger bus from behind.
As the injured were being rushed to a health facility in Barisal, Mallick succumbed to his wounds, officer-in-charge of Gournadi highway police station Mozammel Huq said.
The five injured people included two children aged between 10 and 12.
