Qirat, Azan contest held
Annual Azan, Qirat and easy competition of Bangladesh police was held at Rajarbag Police Lines Central Jame Mosque yesterday.
In Azan competition, among 17 competitors, RRF Khulna's constable Mohammad Akramuzzaman became first, constable Mohammad Karimul Haque of Feni and DMP constable Mohammad Rafiqul Islam became second and third respectively, said a police headquarters release.
In Qirat competition, among 16 competitors, DMP havildar Mohammad Ruhul Amin got the first prize, constable of police academy Mohammad Arifur Rahman and KMP constable Mohammad Mosleh Uddin got the second and third prizes respectively.
In essay competition, Mohammad Sayedul Islam of 5th APBN constable at Uttra got first prize, Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, PTC constable of Noakhali, and KMP nayek Mohammad Jahangir Alam got second and third prizes respectively.
The top prize winners in Azan and Qirat competition recited verses from the holy Quran and rendered Azan on the occasion.
Inspector General (IG) of Police Nur Mohammad distributed prizes among the winners as chief guest.
