Lawbreakers everywhere
That day I was passing through Mirpur Road, I had to stop over a bookshop to pick up some books. After I had reached there, I noticed a car parked just beside the shop.
Now we all know how chaotic the road gets as it is one of the arterial routes, and frankly, his 4 wheeler was responsible for a lot of the knots that had been created. I could see some passengers from a bus shouting at the driver to move the vehicle.
The owner was apparently not paying any heed to those requests, it seemed, the vehicle did not move. Moments later a policeman arrived, and told the driver to move the vehicle. To my surprise, the owner of the car was in the same shop I was in, he went on to the policeman and instead of showing any sign of an apology, he started rebuking the law enforcer instead. The policeman instantly filed a case against the man and left. While he was leaving the place, the owner of the car shouted at his back, "Now that he has filed the case, I am surely not moving my car from here, I want to see how many cases he can file, I have noted his name, I will eat up his job...etc etc.
Let us take a pause here. While the present government is making earnest efforts to ease the nagging traffic congestion problem, some from the affluent quarters are flouting laws with u impunity. It is not the system we need reforms on, it is the people who need to be corrected. Some have started to think that they are above the law. With this mentality prevailing, the future looks bleak.
