Road crashes kill four
At least four people were killed in separate road accidents in Satkhira, Chapainawabganj and Kishoreganj on Friday and yesterday.
Our correspondent from Satkhira reports: A motorcyclist and a fish trader were killed in a road accident on Shyamnagar-Betkhai road near Banshipur bus stand yesterday.
The deceased were identified as Habibur Rahman, 23, son of Abul Kashem and Zahur Ali, 24, son of Abdul Hakim of village Kaikhali of Shyamnagar upazila.
Zahur had hired Habib's motorcycle to take fish to the Banshkhali bazar for selling. On their way, a Shyamnagar-bound bus crushed the motorcycle killing both its riders on the spot.
Our correspondent from Chapainawabganj adds: An elderly man was killed in a road accident on Chapainawabganj-Nachole road at Jamtola of Sadar upazila here early yesterday.
The dead was identified as Mozahar Hossain alias Mozaffar, 70, of Uttar Ujirpur of Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj.
The accident occurred when a speedy motorcycle hit Mozahar while he was crossing the road at around 6:30am.
Locals rushed him to Sadar Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Kishoreganj correspondent says: A man was killed by a speeding truck on the Kishoreganj-Hossainpur road in the Altaf Bhuiyan Bazar area on Friday.
The dead was identified as Abdur Rahim, 45, of Beer Kata-hari village of the same upazila
The truck crushed Hossain at around 10:00pm while he was crossing the road.
Police sent the body to Kishoreganj Adhunik Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
