Village vs. city
Our Palli Kabi Jasimuddin in his well-known poem “Nimontron” invited his city friends to come and enjoy different things in his village. (Tumi jabe bhai, jabe mor sathe, amader chhoto gay….) But do city people go to villages? Rather, village people are rushing towards towns leaving their roots.
Rabindranath Tagore depicted many villages in his poems, but he wrote them residing in Kolkata, or by glancing at villages from his boat. Even our Palli Kabi built his house in Kamalapur of Dhaka.
Although there are many problems in the city, people come here in search of work and for having a better life.
