Lots of people in Bangladesh lose their lives in road accidents. But not a single checkpoint has been set up to identify the unfit vehicles and the reckless drivers. We import expensive motor vehicles. We should also import speed cameras to trace the wrongdoings of the drivers. In the Turag incident, we have lost Monwara Khatun Tara, a student of Jahangirnagar University, and Ariful Islam, a student of Asian University, among others. As a teacher, I request the students of both the private and public universities to get involved with a noble mission. The name of this mission is “Mission- Road Safety”. History has many evidences to prove that the students of this country possess great abilities. If the students want, they can definitely bring a change. Let us take an oath on the National Road Safety Day to launch a battle against road accidents.
