Killer suspect on 5-day remand
A judicial magistrate of Brahmanbaria yesterday granted five-day remand to interrogate Ismail, a suspected killer of train guard Gopal Chandra Mandal.
Ismail, 36, was involved in smuggling for long, said Government Railway (GR) police who arrested Ismail, 36, at Rajanagar village under Raipura upazila of Narshingi district on Tuesday night.
On Saturday, GR police arrested another 'smuggler' Ahid Mia, 30, from Brahmanpara in Comilla.
GR police are making a list of smugglers who are being suspected as killers of train guard Gopal, sources said.
Gopal's body was recovered from the compartment of intercity Turna Nishitha train at Brahmanbaria on December 11.
