Speakers tell roundtable
Speakers at a roundtable yesterday said the visual media not only entertains but also influences women's choice and way of thinking about their daily activities.
Two research papers were presented at the programme on “Women and visual media: Representation and engagement”.
Pathways of women's empowerment research programme organised it at Cirdap auditorium in the city.
The finding show women actively interpret the narratives on screen and creatively apply those in their daily lives.

Muhammad Jahangir, executive director of the centre for development communication; Kaberi Gayen, associate professor of Dhaka University; actress Sara Zaker, also head of Nayantara Communication; and Firdous Azim, teacher of Brac University; also addressed the programme.
