Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh's visit to Dhaka has been confirmed, said a top Bangladeshi official here yesterday. “The visit by the Indian PM is certain and two sides will work out details including the date of the visit,” said Dr Moshiur Rahman, the economic affairs adviser to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Dr Moshiur told this to the agency following his meetings with officials and leaders of the ruling UPA government. A high-level delegation of Bangladesh is now in the Indian capital to observe the progress after the summit between the two prime ministers in Delhi early this year. The delegation includes PM's Foreign Affairs Adviser Gawhar Rizvi and top officials from power and water ministries. “Basically, we are here to see how things have progressed over the months after the two heads of government met in Delhi in early January,” said Dr Moshiur. He said three countries are required to cooperate in some areas that involve Bhutan and Nepal alongside India and Bangladesh. The PM adviser said the Indian commerce minister has expressed his desire to visit Dhaka. He noted that an India delegation will visit Bangladesh next month. India is conducting feasibility study for setting up a coal-based power station in Bangladesh, he added.
