Textbooks to reach schools on time: Nahid

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid yesterday made a surprise visit to the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) and Dhaka Education Board. The minister first went to the NCTB and inquired about the latest situation of the printing of school textbooks. He told all concerned that whatever needed would have to be done so that all the children get new books in time. NCTB Chairman Prof Mostafa Kamal Uddin said books would reach all educational institutions in three to four days. Then the minister went to Dhaka Education Board and observed activities relating to the results of JSC and JDC examinations to be published on December 31. Board Chairman Prof Fahima Khatun assured the minister that the results would be prepared within the stipulated time, said an official release.
