Tk 12 lakh mugged in city
Armed muggers snatched Tk 12 lakh from two employees of a business firm at South Kamalapur in the city yesterday.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tofazzal Hossain of Motijheel Police Station said two armed muggers on a motorcycle hit one of the employees on the head with the butt of a firearm and snatched away a bag containing the money around 12:45pm.
The employees drew the amount of C&F Agent Betraboti Trade Syndicate from Sonali Bank, ICD Branch and were crossing the road on foot to go to the firm on the opposite side of the road when the attack took place, said the OC.
Ashraful Alam, the firm owner, filed a case with Motijheel Police Station in this connection.
