Build self-reliant nation
Urges DU VC
Dhaka University VC Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique yesterday urged the people to build a self-reliant nation with knowledge and education.
Arefin told the 20th memorial programme on Prof Nazma Jasmine Chowdhury. Institute of Modern Language (IML) arranged the event at its auditorium.
Prof Syed Manjurul Islam read out the memorial speech on the thinking of poet Rabindranath Tagore about the society, country, nation and nationalism.
With DU VC in the chair the programme was attended by Prof emeritus of DU Serajul Islam Chowdhury, IML Director Md Abdur Rahim, and about a hundred teachers.
Prof Nazma Jasmine, who taught at IML, was the spouse of Prof Serajul Islam Chowdhury.
