Guardians protest 'irregularities'
Guardians of admission aspirants of class III to different government schools in Rajshahi city yesterday demonstrated for alleged irregularity in publishing admission results.
They staged a sit-in and marched in a procession around the deputy commissioner (DC)'s office and threatened tougher movement if the authorities fail to take proper action within Thursday.
The protestors also met the DC and demanded the admission process be held up and the matter be investigated.
The DC told them that irregularity is unlikely. “Yet, if any irregularity is found in probe, stern action will be taken”.
The name of some 152 qualified children were announced on loudspeakers on December 25, but their roll numbers were not found in printed result sheet the next morning, said the agitators.
They also alleged that they found some 24 students who were shown qualified for enrolling in more than one school at a time.
Moreover, the printed result sheets of PN Government Girls School did not carry signatures of concerned officials of the school and district administration, they said.
