Recruit more manpower, import products
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has requested Kuwait to liberalize its recruitment policy for Bangladeshi manpower.
The prime minister made the call when newly appointed Ambassador of Kuwait in Dhaka Ali Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Dhufairi paid a courtesy call on her at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) yesterday noon.
Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Abul Kalam Azad briefed reporters after the meeting.
“I hope the Kuwaiti government would liberalize the recruitment policy for Bangladeshi manpower and consider recruitment of more Bangladeshi workers because of their sincerity, honesty and commitment,” said the prime minister.
Hasina told the ambassador that Kuwait can highly be benefited by recruiting available business professionals, engineers, doctors, nurses, skilled, semi-skilled and technical personals from Bangladesh.
These Bangladeshi work forces have international standard having work experiences in construction, civil aviation, power, petro-chemical, automatic, health and hospitality, she said.
She also called upon the Kuwaiti government and business community to import world class ceramics, pharmaceuticals, melamine, sanitary ware, toiletries, leather products, furniture from Bangladesh.
Hasina further requested the Kuwaiti government to persuade Kuwaitis to invest in Bangladesh in various sectors.
Recalling her visits to Kuwait in 2000 and 2010, the prime minister conveyed her high regards to the Emir of Kuwait and reminded him of her standing invitation to him to visit Bangladesh as soon as it is possible for him.
The Kuwaiti ambassador eulogized Prime Minister Hasina's leadership and assured that Kuwait will continue to cooperate Bangladesh in attaining its development goals.
Hasina assured the Kuwaiti Ambassador of providing all necessary cooperation to discharge his duties as the ambassador of Kuwait to Bangladesh.
The prime minister and the Kuwaiti ambassador hoped that the existing friendly relations between the two countries will be further strengthened in the days to come.
Among others, Ambassador at Large M Ziauddin and PMO Secretary Mollah Waheeduzzaman were present.
