Eight burglars with stolen equipment arrested
Police arrested eight people and seized a stolen electric generator, a mini truck and some instruments of Banglalink, a telecommunication company, from Ahmadpur area under Baraigram upazila in the district yesterday.
The arrestees were identified as Amir Hossain, son of Yaqub Ali of Ukilkandi village of Sakhipur upazila in Shariatpur district; Osman Goni, son of Abdur Rahim Bapari of South Sakhipur village; Kamal Hossain, son of Rango Bepari of Mahishkhali village; Abdur Rahman, son of Azizul Mridha of Naupara village under Naria upazila; Ferdaus Gazi, son of Shajahan Gazi of Patkathi village under Gosarhat upazila in Shariatpur district; truck driver Jamal Uddin, son of Abdul Khalek under Borhanuddin upazila; truck-helper Saddam Hossain, son of Nashu Mia of Kolakopat village under Daulatkhan upazila in Bhola district; and Riazul Islam, son of Sohrab Hosen of Nazirpur village under Bhanga upazila in Faridpur district.
Nasirul Islam, acting superintendent of police in Natore, said on information police caught the men and seized the items from Ahmad Bazar area on Natore-Dhaka highway.
A case was filed with Baraigram Police Station in this connection, he added.
