Road crashes kill 9
At least nine people were killed and 11 others injured in separate road accidents in Chittagong, Madaripur, Brahmanbaria, Natore, Gaibandha, Jhenidah districts on Friday night and yesterday.
Our correspondent from Chittagong reports: A Thana Education Officer was killed in a road accident in front of Chittagong University at Hathazari yesterday. The dead is Abdul Hamid, 45, TEO of Matiranga of Khagrachhari.
Our Madaripur correspondent adds: A father and his son were killed and six others including a woman and a child injured seriously in a road accident on Dhaka-Barisal highway at Rajoir upazila yesterday.
The deceased were Jainal Shekh, 50, and his son Azizul, 6. The injured were taken to Rajoir Health Complex. Later, they were shifted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
Our correspondent from Brahmanbaria says: One person was killed and two others were injured in a road accident while a bus and a tempo collided head-on on Comilla-Sylhet highway at Nandanpur of Sadar upazila on Friday night.
The deceased was Muhammad, 25, a passenger of the tempo.
Our correspondent from Natore adds: A seven-year-old boy was killed in a road accident near Singra toll plaza in the district yesterday.
The deceased is Hridoy, son of Firoz Ahmed, resident of Goraounpara at Singra municipality area.
Our correspondent from Gaibandha reports: One person was killed and three others were injured when a pick up van plunged into a roadside ditch on Rangpur-Bogra highway at Jhundaha yesterday.
Our correspondent from Jhenidah says: Two sugar mill employees and a truck driver were killed in separate road accidents in Jhenidah on Friday night.
The deceased were Samir Kumar Das, 32, son of late Santosh Kumar Das of Arpara village, Hashem Ali, 42, son of Rajab Ali of Chapali village and truck driver Abdur Rashid, 45, son of Eakub Ali of Bakchar in Jessore.
