Ten injured as BCL factions clash at Dhaka Homeopathic College
At least 10 students were injured early yesterday as two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Dhaka Homeopathic College unit clashed during New Year's celebration feast on their premises in the city.
Police rescued an injured student Partho from a dormitory and sent him to a local clinic while nine others received minor injuries.
Police detained three non-students from the spot in this connection.
Police said the clash ensued between the two groups one led by unit President Mainuddin and Secretary Ruhul Amin.
The college's BCL unit organised the feast at the college dormitory.
Sub-Inspector Rabiul of Kafrul Police Station said the clash started as followers of the president group refused to accept the outsiders in the feast resulting in a chase and counter chase between the two.
Police rushed charged baton to disperse the students and brought the situation under control. They detained three outsiders in this connection.
