5 held in AL leader Sabu murder case
Pabna Sadar police station yesterday arrested five persons accused in district Awami League leader Saiful Islam Sabu murder case.
The arrestees are Nazrul Islam of Singa village, Moklesur Rahman alias Kata Bachu of Nurpur, Asad of Bilviduri, Bakul and Helal of Singa village in Pabna Sadar upazila.
During primary interrogation, the arrestees confessed their involvement in the murder of AL leader Sabu, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station Md. Iqbal Safi told this correspondent.
They were arrested from different areas in separate raids following intelligence information.
They would be produced before court today, the OC said.
Md. Saiful Islam Sabu was shot and hacked to death on September 18 last year, 2007.
