Baby dies mysteriously
Police recovered a body of a nine-month old infant from a house at Paikpara in the city's Mirpur last night.
Some family members of the deceased, Iram Sardar, suspected that his father Selim Sardar of Chhapakhana Mor at Paikpara might have killed his baby.
Quoting Iram's mother Mahmuda, police said Selim locked into a quarrel with his wife on Saturday morning. At one stage, Selim took his son out of home. Selim returned to his home yesterday evening with the baby when Mahmuda went to the resident of her husband's sister.
When Mahmuda returned to home she found her baby dead in a bucket of the bathroom, police said. On information, police recovered the body at 9:00pm.
