Shaheed Tajul Day today
Today is the 27th death anniversary of Shaheed Tajul Islam, former leader of Adamjee Trade Union and Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), says a press release.
Different organisations will place wreaths at the sculpture of Shaheed Tajul Islam at CPB office between 10:00am and 11:00am.
CPB President Manzurul Ahsan Khan and General Secretary Mujahidul Islam Selim in a joint statement urged everyone to observe Shahid Tajul Day in a befitting manner.
Tajul, a worker of Adamjee Jute Mill, was shot dead by criminals while he was leading a protest procession called by Sramik Karmachari Oikya Parishad against military rule in 1984.
