'Feb sees 240 murders'

The country witnessed 240 people murdered throughout the month of February, 2011, with nine killings everyday if averaged, according to a survey report. National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and Odhikar obtained the data analysing reports on human rights violation published in the national dailies. The rights watchdogs also recorded 17 extra-judicial killings by law enforcers, of them eight people were killed by Rab, six by police, and three by the Rab-police joint forces. According to Odhikar, at least nine persons died in Rab custody and four in the custody of police.
