Japan donates US$ 88,057

Japan has provided a grant assistant amounting US$ 88,057 for implementing grass-roots human security projects at Syedpur in Nilphamari district. The main objective of the project is people receive training and hence will help local people improve their socio-economic and right base sector especially women. Local NGO “Manabik Shahajya Sangstha (MSS)” received the fund while a “Community-Based Resource Center- CBRC” was inaugurated yesterday, says a press release of Japan embassy. The inaugural ceremony was attended by Jasim Uddin Ahmed, divisional commissioner of Rangpur division, Habibur Rhaman, acting deputy commissioner of Nilphamari, Feroz M Hasan, founder president of MSS, Anar Koli Mahbub, upazila nirbahi officer and Japanese first secretary Yasuharu Shint. Under this project a two-storiey building was constructed. In the ground floor two training room, one trainers room, one discussion room, one prayers room, one recreation room and one library cum reading room in total 7 rooms. On the other hand, in the first floor 30 participants can accommodate in at a time in 8 bedrooms. Each year 2000 people will benefited from this project.
