A total of 187 women were screened for breast cancer free of cost at three camps in Sylhet, Moulvibazar and Habiganj. Five were diagnosed and about 30 others suspected cases were found among 165 women screened at a camp at Sylhet Women's Medical College Hospital on Saturday. The rest were screened on Sunday at two other camps arranged for tea workers at Shamshernagar Tea Garden in Moulvibazar and Chandpur Tea Garden in Habiganj. Centre for Cancer Prevention and Research (CCPR), a non-profitable organisation, arranged the camps. The screening followed awareness meetings, says a press release. Dr Habibullah Talukder Ruskin, an associate professor and head of cancer epidemiology department at the National Institute of Cancer Research and Hospital, presented the keynote speeches at the meetings. A five-doctor team led by Dr Habibullah conducted the screening camps.
