Two BGB men plead guilty
Two accused mutineers of Sadar Rifle Battalion of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) yesterday pleaded guilty and sought mercy at a special court at the Darbar Hall of Pilkhana.
On the previous proceeding day of the court, four also pleaded guilty.
The Special Court-9, headed by BGB Dhaka Sector Commander Col Habibul Karim, yesterday took depositions of the plaintiff and witness of the case, Subedar Munsi Jahangir Alam.
He gave depositions against 30 accused and revealed the activities of 735 mutineers on the mutiny day.
The allegations against the accused include leaving Darbar Hall defying the orders of the then director general, failing to control subordinates, refraining from providing information about the mutiny to the higher authority, doing nothing to prevent mutiny, taking firearms and ammunition from the cote (arms depot), and taking part in the mutiny actively.
The court adjourned the proceedings till 9:00am of April 9.
