Court permission sought to exhume Redwan's body
Motijheel police yesterday sought court permission to exhume body of Dhaka University student Redwanul Islam from his grave for autopsy after two days of his burial at his village home.
Following the death of Redwanul on Sunday in a clash between transport workers and DU students at Motijheel, Shahbagh police handed over the body to the deceased's family without autopsy.
SI of Motijheel, Samir Chandra Sutradhar, applied to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's court for performing the autopsy. The court is supposed to start hearing of the petition today.
Police, in the petition, the body was handed over to Redwan's family without autopsy as per the request of the family, but that raised questions.
