Road crashes kill 7, injure 35 in three districts

At least seven people were killed and 35 others injured in separate road accidents in Natore, Nilphamari and Barisal on Friday and yesterday. Our correspondent from Natore reports: A one-year-old girl and a man were killed on the spot and at least 10 others injured when a Dhaka-bound bus over turned on Dhaka-Natore highway in Kalikapur area of Baraigram upazila on Friday. The deceased are identified as Sumaiya Yasmin, 1, daughter of Abdus Shahid of village Par Atghoria of sadar upazila and Ekabbar Ali, 40, resident of Kachhutia of Baraigram upazila. Our correspondent from Nilphamari says: A cloth trader, Ferdous Alam Chowdhury, 45, son of Haji Jasim Uddin Chowdhury, was killed when his motorbike collided head-on with a microbus on Nilphamari-Ramganj road at Tupamari Bazar intersection on Friday. BSS from Barisal adds: Four persons were killed and 25 others injured as the driver of a bus lost his control over the steering of the bus at Babla in Babuganj upazila yesterday. Abdur Razzak, Humayun, Bahadur and Alauddin died instantly after the accident. The injured were admitted to Shebachim Hospital in critical condition.
