Kadamtali murder: Police still clueless

Staff Correspondent
Police are still in the dark on identity of the murderers and the reason behind the brutal killing of three youths in the city's Kadamtali, five days into the discovery of the bodies. Gagged and rope-bound bodies of Johnny, his brother Babu and their friend Hasan with their throats slit were found on a wetland at West Mohammadpur on March 7. Two local youths Ibrahim, 22, and Kuddus, 20, were arrested on suspicion and taken on a two-day. Sub-Inspector (SI) Enamul Huq of Kadomtoli Police Station, also investigation officer of the case, said, "We suspect the youths might have been killed over an internal feud as they were the members of a criminal gang." Talking to The Daily Star, Hasan's cousin Omar Faruq said, "Some five to six local youths called Johnny out of the house around 10:00pm on March 6, followed by Babu and Hasan." When asked, SI Enamul said they were not aware of this statement.
