Road crashes kill 2
An employee of a construction firm was killed as a bus hit his motorbike at the city's Ramna yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Giasuddin, 65, son of Zahiruddin of 18/9 of Tikkapara of Mohammadpur, an employee of Muniko Limited.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Shahbagh Police Station Rezaul Karim, said the accident took place when a Mirpur-bound bus hit his motorbike in front of Roads and Highways Department office around 2:00pm.
The bus hit him as soon as he reached the main road from the adjacent road of RHD, the OC said.
Locals rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where duty doctors declared him dead around 3:00pm.
Police seized the bus but the driver and helper of the bus fled away. Police sent the body to DMCH morgue for autopsy.
Meanwhile, our correspondent from Jhenidah says: An employee of Jhenidah judge court, Hayat Ali, 35 son of Mohiuddin of Khazura village, was killed a road crash when speedy truck ran over him in front of Arabpur fuel station on Saturday night.
