4 held with firearms
Police arrested four people including three suspected cadres of Islami Chhatra Shibir and recovered three firearms and fifteen rounds of bullets from them in two separate drives here yesterday and Tuesday night.
In a drive, a team from Bayezid Police Station, acting on a tip off, raided Khondokerpara of Bayezid area and arrested Md Ali Akbar alias Dhakaiya Akbar, 20, Aziz Mohammad, 22 and Md Babul, 22, all residents of that area.
A foreign-made handgun, one local double-barrel gun and ten rounds of bullets were recovered from their possession.
Earlier, a team from Kotwali Police Station at a police check post in Central Railway Building area arrested Md Moin Uddin, alias Farhad, 32, a resident of the city's Chandgaon area, riding in a CNG-run three wheeler.
Police recovered one 0.22 bore pistol, made in Spain, loaded with five rounds of bullets from his possession.
