Swiss agency donates cyclone shelters
Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation handed over four cyclone shelters to local communities of Morelganj upazila of Bagherhat on Tuesday and Monday.
The shelters are a part of the agency's community based Disaster Risk Reduction Programme following the cyclone Sidr that hit coastal area in 2007, says a press release.
There is room to house livestock on the first floor of each shelter, which also has solar panels, a generator and rainwater harvesting system.
Dr Urs Herren, Swiss ambassador to Bangladesh, along with other government officials were present during the handing over.
