Ctg Wasa to reduce system loss
Chittagong WASA expressed hope to reduce the system loss of water into 15 percent within the year 2016.
Chittagong WASA has been experiencing 25 to 30 percent of system loss per day from last two years. It was over 36 percent earlier.
Chittagong WASA Managing Director Engr AKM Fazlullah in a press briefing said the condition of system loss of water in Chittagong yesterday.
Chittagong WASA Chief Engr Md Shafiullah and Project Director Nazrul Haque were present at the press briefing.
Fazlullah said to decrease the system loss of water they are working with JICA.
Under a project JICA selected some officials and workers from Chittagong WASA to give them training, the MD added.
He said they selected five areas such as Chadgaon A and B block, North Khushi, Agrabad CDA residential area and Halishahar B block to do the pilot project.
WASA officials said most of the system loss occurred for water leakage, water theft, non-installation of water meter, wrong measurement of water meter and incomplete billing system.
