Decision on lower court judges'transfer today
The general administration committee of Supreme Court (SC) today will decide on a government proposal for the transfer of around 60 lower court judges across the country.
The four-member committee will decide at a meeting with Chief Justice ABM Khairul Haque in the chair at his residential office in the evening, SC sources said. The committee is responsible for decisions regarding posting, promotion and other departmental action.
The chief justice heads the committee and selected three other members from the judges of High Court Division -- Justice Mohammad Anwar-ul Haque, Justice AKM Fazlur Rahman and Justice Justice Hasan Foez Siddique.
Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs placed the proposal to the committee for approval around two months ago.
The government is dealing with posting, promotion, and grant of leave of lower court judges in consultation with the SC as per the directive of Masdar Hossain case popularly known as separation of judiciary case, a law ministry official said.
