Over 100 law enforcers fall sick from food consumption
Over 100 personnel from different law enforcement agencies deployed for the security of World Cup cricketers at Dhaka Sheraton Hotel and Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium fell sick after they had lunch yesterday.
The sick personnel were admitted to Rajarbagh Police Lines Hospital, Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Combined Military Hospital (CMH), and Galaxy Hospital as they were vomiting and suffering from dehydration.
Members from police, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab), NSI, Ansar, and Fire Brigade deployed in the two places had chicken biriani cooked at Rahmania Hotel in Khilgaon Railway Gate area, said Mirpur Police Station Officer-in-charge Kazi Wazed Ali.
Mirpur and Motijheel police said eight people are arrested in this connection.
