Defamation case against Mahmudur dismissed
A Dhaka court yesterday dismissed a defamation case against Mahmudur Rahman, acting editor of the daily Amar Desh, and two others as the complainant of the case remained absent from the court for the three consecutive dates.
Metropolitan Magistrate SK Tofayel Hasan passed the order following an application submitted on behalf of Mahmudur Rahman and the two other accused--former publisher Alhaj Md Hashmat Ali and reporter M Abdullah---for dismissal of the case. The three accused were present at the court.
