Respiratory infections in children on the rise
Children are increasingly getting acute respiratory inflection (ARI), the preliminary stage of bronchitis, in the port city in recent weeks due to dust and changes in weather.
Over 150 children, mostly aged below two years, got admitted with ARI to Chittagong Maa O Shishu Hospital in last two weeks, according to the hospital sources.
Dr Ruhita Murshed, registrar of the hospital, said the number of infected children this week is higher than that in the previous two weeks.
