West favours Yunus for their interests: Hanif
Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahabubul Alam Hanif yesterday overtly criticised the foreign friends of Grameen Bank founder Dr Muhammad Yunus.
He told a discussion at Biam auditorium in the city with Health Minister AFM Ruhal Haque in the chair. Pro-AL doctors' organisation, Swadhinata Chikitshok Parishad, organised it. LGRD Minister Syed Ashraful Islam also spoke.
Hanif said the westerners take stand in favour of Yunus for their commercial interests, not for Bangladesh.
He urged the civil society members of Bangladesh not to destabilise the country by favouring the microcredit pioneer.
