Commemorative postage stamps released
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday released a set of five commemorative postage stamps and a first day cover marking the 40th anniversary of the country's independence.
The stamps, issued by Bangladesh Postal Department, were released at a simple ceremony at Ganobhaban in the city.
Of the stamps, one of Tk 20 denomination is inscribed with the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the other four stamps of Tk 10 denomination each are inscribed with four memorial sculptures of the country's War of Liberation.
The commemorative stamps will be available at the General Post Office and all grade 'A' post offices across the country.
